Unbeaten Lumbini Lions Seek to Extend Table Lead
Sitting comfortably atop the NPL Season 3 standings with 5 points from three outings (two dominant wins and one rain no-result) alongside a towering Net Run Rate, Rohit Kumar Paudel’s defending champions have showcased ruthless efficiency:
- Fierce Bowling Unit: Spearheaded by Namibian left-arm quick Ruben Trumpelmann (3/16 against Pokhara), Kishore Mahato (4/28 in Match 1), Sher Malla, and Tilak Bhandari, Lumbini have restricted both opponents they bowled against to under 100 runs.
- Ruthless Top Order: With Australian big-hitter D’Arcy Short, wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh, and skipper Rohit Paudel (47* off 32 balls on Tuesday), Lumbini have chased down both targets within 12 overs.
Janakpur Bolts Eye Top-Two Climb
Anil Sah’s Janakpur Bolts (4 points from four fixtures) arrive determined to erase the sting of Tuesday’s narrow 2-run defeat to Biratnagar Kings, where they fought to the very final delivery behind Saif Hassan’s breathtaking 71 off 48 balls.
With England star Moeen Ali, Nepal international Trit Raj Das, New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham, and left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi in their ranks, Janakpur possess the explosive firepower to challenge Lumbini’s unbeaten streak.
